What’s to like

The Echelon II has lots of vents, great for getting the air flowing through.  The helmet also has plenty of reflective elements for added safety.  Specialized touts the Headset SL fit system, essentially a clicky dial that turns to adjust the size, which was found to be intuitive and easy to use.  The Tri-fix strap system is no fuss, requiring minimal adjustment for fit.   Added bonus, the Echelon II looks cool, especially in black.

Whats not to like

I have a slightly wider than normal head, with a flat back side (wondering if was dropped on the head as a baby…) so most helmets don’t fit well. Period.  The Echelon II included.  It’s a bit tight on the sides.  There are many exposed sections of the foam that may indent quite easily (perhaps to save weight by reducing the amount of protective plastic).

Overall the Echelon II is a good buy for the money.    It sports an increased airflow and is lighter than the skateboard helmet I had before. And any helmet worn is better than none.
